Making Quality Work
New developments in Distance Education
19-21 May 2010 – Cambridge, UK

The 2010 EADL Conference will be held in the famous university city of Cambridge on 19-21 May 2010. The venue is the University Arms Hotel, which looks out over a large park in the heart of the city and is close to the main train station.

Cambridge is easily accessible by road and rail and the frequent trains to London take 45 minutes. For international visitors, Stansted Airport is the best choice, with a direct train service to Cambridge.

Conference Programme
Making Quality Work
We all want quality courses.

Learners - want skills and qualifications.
Providers - want satisfied customers.
Governments - want a skilled workforce.

We think we know what quality is. And if we're not sure, there's no shortage of literature to inform us, consultants to advise us, or inspectorates to check and endorse us.

But does this attention to quality always translate into effective courses, particularly as new technologies offer new possibilities outside traditional techniques?

Making Quality Work will look at both standard practice and new developments in distance learning and ask "What really makes a course effective?"

The conference will be split into the 5 main themes of Marketing, Customer Relations, Learning Environments, Student Support and Assessment, and Technology.

Presentations include:

  • Using Social Media
  • Increasing Customer Satisfaction
  • Co-operative and collaborative learning
  • Mobile Learning
  • The Use of Flash Meeting

Speakers will present trends and ideas from Europe and the USA, and represent organisations including:

  • The Open University
  • Cambridge Marketing College
  • European Association of Distance Learning
  • Cambridge Assessment
  • Open and Distance Learning Quality Council
